COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course will demonstrate the role of sagittal depth of the ocular surface in an effort to improve contact lens fitting and enhancing visual and physiologic outcomes.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • To review the corneoscleral profile, how to measure each anatomical contributor, and the effect of the corneoscleral profile on the on-eye soft contact lens fit.
  • To introduce the soft contact lens sagittal depth charts and how to effectively utilize the charts in clinical practice.
  • To review the various factors that contribute to the design and fit of a contact lens (eg. Contact lens sagittal depth, lens modulus, lens hydration).
