COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This one-hour lecture will review recent publications concerning scleral lenses, including those that focus on corneal edema, midday fogging, and changes in intraocular pressure. The emphasis of this course will be on the translation of research findings to clinical relevance. *Video was recorded at our Virtual Island Eyes Conference on January 22, 2021

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • To educate practitioners on the current research on corneal edema, midday fogging, intraocular pressure, and the use of solutions with scleral lenses in clinical practice
  • To describe how the current research can translate into clinically relevant findings and discuss the integration of the recent research into evidence-based medicine.
  • To inform and provide the audience with a review of recent publications regarding scleral lens research.
