COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course will explore diabetes as a public health concern, how diabetes can manifest in the anterior segment of the eye, and management of these patients. *Video was recorded at our Virtual Island Eyes Conference on January 29, 2021

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • To identify some potential iris, ciliary body, and pupil presentations in a diabetic patient
  • To identify some potential complications with the pre-corneal tear film in a diabetic patient
  • To learn about corneal confocal microscopy as a helpful tool to assess corneal nerves
