COURSE DESCRIPTION:

In a grand round formats, Pacific University, College of Optometry residents will present topics of interest in Deadly Diplopia

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • To inform the primary eye clinician on necessary testing and work up for correct diagnosis.
  • To review clinical manifestations, risk factors, and management of ocular syphilis
  • To review systemic and ocular management as well as visual rehabilitation of patients diagnosed with giant cell arteritis.
  • To identify appropriate laboratory tests/imaging to rule out potentially life and sight-threatening causes of ocular inflammation
  • To review anatomy and pathophysiology of giant cell arteritis and how it affects the visual system.
