COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course details the risks and complications of eyelash and eyelid augmentation procedures, including, false eyelashes, eyelash extensions, eyelash perming/lifting, eye lash tinting, eyelash serums, and cosmetic tattooing. Treatment of ocular surface complications from these enhancements will be discussed, along with healthier beauty alternatives for patients.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • To identify the main ingredient(s) in eyelash growth serums associated with ocular inflammation.
  • To generate a list of healthier alternatives to cosmetic eyelash and eyelid enhancements.
  • To become familiarized with the procedural difference between false eyelashes, eyelash extensions, lash tinting, lash lifting, and permanent make-up cosmetic procedures.
