COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course will offer a complete review of low vision and help doctors have a better understanding of how low vision care is growing today. It will also provide an over view of the causes of congenital vision impairment. This course will also cover the different disorders that cause low vision, how to do a proper low vision exam, go over the basics. We will go over several case studies that will allow the doctors the right tools, environmental adaptations and a broad support system.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • The doctors need to understand the basic components of a low vision exam
  • The doctors will be able to understand ROP and when it will likely develop.
  • The doctors need to learn the most prevalent causes of congenital vision loss.
  • The doctors need to understand practical application of low vision evaluation.
